The units ship without a 9V battery which needs to be installed by the user.
Open the lid and slide the battery into place, it should sit tightly in place.
Press the black button on the outside of the unit to test if the unit is operational
Battery LED States:
Green = Good
Yellow = Ok
Red = Needs to be replaced soon

The LED will be red when there is no connectivity between the two cables
